Tea bags - not the friendly compostable we thought!

We found out something interesting yesterday, it also took us quite by surprise as we genuinely didn't know this. Tea bags may not be fully compostable. Some tea bags contain polypropylene which doesn't decompose. So we are only using tea infusers and tea strainers from now on. Once our current box of tea bags is used up, that's it, no more bags.

You can still put tea bags in the compost, and it's still a great option, but you may need to sieve out any bits that haven't composted down. You should also rip them open to give the compostable contents a bit of freedom to do their thing.

Check out our range of tea infusers and go bagless today!
